This organization focuses on promoting and improving the health of individuals, families and communities through research and clinical studies (NINR, 2016). This reflects the overall goal of any health organization as well as health care providers. In their mission statement they announce how their research integrates both behavioral and biological sciences. This integration is fundamental for understanding how these influences each other; this awareness establishes the scientific basis for clinical practice (NINR, 2016). The research findings of this organization are what enables us to provide the level of care and treatment we do today. Throughout the layout of the strategic plan they mention their scientific focal points. They established four areas which the organization deemed they can make the largest impact. These areas are: symptom science, wellness, self-management of chronic conditions and en-oflife palliative care. I want to highlight the fact that throughout the detailing of the plan they mentioned how they intend it to remain flexible. This is imperative as science and health care are ever changing. Therefore, when it comes to innovation and researches, they have to be continuously re-assessed for updates and changes to adapt to health challenges and demands as they arise (NINR, 2016). Without getting into specifics, I want to use the current COVID-19 situation as an example of the importance of the previously mentioned. How health organizations have had to adapt and remain flexible and resilient with the managing of research and clinical studies with this emerging health issue
